About
Enjoy beautiful
mountainous nature
This is an open field on top of the beautiful mountains
overlooking Kumagawa-juku and the Wakasa region.
A hilltop right on the bank of Lake Myojin.
Enjoy your time in this mountain village,
far from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
Fill your body with the smell of wood
and the touch of sunlight.
Enjoy BBQ as you gaze out over the ridge at dusk.
A comfortable cabin to welcome
you after a day of fun/excitement.
Waking up to the sound of a rare bird.
Just like a constellation, discover your location
from the mountains position.
Our name comes from the term
"mountain identification" or Sanzadotei in Japanese.
We hope you'll appreciate
the lifestyle of being in the mountains.
Let's enrich our lives through nature.

FIELD MAP
Our values Life in nature
Here, the days are short, and the winters are harsh.
There are not any big industries.
Fukui Prefecture’s
Wakasa region is not a financially rich area.
However, with the blessings
of the mountains and the sea,
alongside the changing seasons,
a culture of overcoming harsh
environments was built by our predecessors.
We want to leave this region’s culture
and its resources for future generations.
However, there are some things that just won’t work
in the present day without some change.
For example, renovating an old Japanese home
into hotel accommodation.
Turning local and
familiar ingredients into something fresh.
Creating programs to help you experience
the local culture and nature.
We will rediscover our regions value
and bring about a new economic boom.
We will create a place to let
the people shine by hiring locally.
We will revitalize this land by increasing
the people involved and by bringing in more visitors.
We will make the Wakasa region a place
where people want to live.

Sister Accommodations The Luxury of Simplicity
Spending a night in a home filled
with the memories of a thousand travelers.
On your afternoon stroll a crab suddenly appears
The setting sun paints your room a dark red
Making breakfast in the morning
At Yao-Kumagawa, we believe in providing you
with an experience that values, above all,
the simple things in life.
As a post town that connected the old capital of
Kyoto to the Wakasa Bay,
Kumagawa-juku has had its share of travelers
and as travelers yourselves,
through your experiences here,
we believe there will be change to your daily life
that you can bring with you, wherever you go next.
